Michel Jarre's Management have confirmed to JARRE UK today, that Francis
Dreyfus Music's planned release of Jean Michel Jarre's Record-Breaking
'RENDEZ-VOUS HOUSTON' Concert on DVD throughout Europe, has been OFFICIALLY
CANCELLED yesterday.
Jean Michel Jarre's Management have issued the following statement today,
and have asked JARRE UK to present this statement to Fans:-
"We realise how much you were all looking forward to the Houston
Concert being available on DVD, however the upcoming release by Francis
Dreyfus Music has been cancelled.
Due to the evident poor quality of the film, which has not been restored
or upgraded to today's digital standards, nor at all to a level of a product
that Jean Michel Jarre could be artistically satisfied with, the DVD,
as Francis Dreyfus Music planned to release it, would have done more harm
than justice to what remains a milestone event.
A
mere DVD copy of the VHS format, where the original images and sound are
far from optimum, where no Bonus nor Extras are proposed, with artwork
that lacked punch...would have led to a less than mediocre product sold
at normal price.
Moreover, it is important to underline that Jean Michel Jarre was not
consulted or informed of the release by Francis Dreyfus Music, this in
itself is sufficient to oppose it.
As you know, Jean Michel Jarre takes too much pride in his work and care
in his creation, to allow it, and you, to be exploited, without the necessary
investment of offering the best standard possible.
We thank you in advance for your continuous support and understanding,
especially in this case.

"April 5th at 8.15pm Downtown Houston is aflame. A kilometer-long

4TH: Jean
Michel Jarre’s Management have confirmed to JARRE UK today, that Jean
Michel Jarre is in the final stages of planning a second stage of his
‘OXYGENE IN CONCERT’ Tour, which is planned to take place late October-November
2008.
Jean
Michel Jarre will be performing the second stage of his ‘OXYGENE IN CONCERT’
Tour mainly in Eastern Europe, with a possibility of some Western European
countries being included that were not included in the first stage of
performances earlier this year.
Earlier
this week, an announcement was made on the Internet about an ‘OXYGENE
IN CONCERT’ performance in the Polivalenta Hall, Bucharest, Romania on
November 10th 2008, by the promoter, the Phoenix Foundation. Although
this has not been officially confirmed by Jean Michel Jarre’s Management
as of yet, they have informed us that this performance is looking very
likely to take place as advertised…WATCH THIS SPACE!!!

confirmed to JARRE UK today, that they will be broadcasting a 2 Hours
15 Minutes High-Definition ‘LIVE’ recording of Jean Michel Jarre’s entire
‘WATER FOR LIFE’ Concert, in the Sand Dunes of the Sahara Desert, Merzouga,
Morocco, on December 16th 2006, entitled ‘JEAN MICHEL JARRE: WATER FOR
LIFE’, from 19:45-22:00 (7:45pm-10:00pm) & 23:45-02:00 (11:45pm-2:00am)
(Local Time) on Tuesday 8th July 2008, and repeated the following day
from 03:45-06:00, 07:45-10:00 & 11:45-14:00 (11:45am-2:00pm) (Local
Time) on Wednesday 9th July 2008.
You will all
have probably noticed that there has been a lack of updates on JARRE UK
in the last month, and I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely
apologise for this, but due to personal circumstances beyond my control,
I have not been able to work on the Web-Site these last few weeks.
A
close friend of mine, Christopher Wray, posted an apology on my behalf
in the Space Of Freedom Forum a couple of weeks ago (thanks Chris), and
I would like to thank you all for all your supportive responses, it has
really uplifted me in very difficult times, and as such, I am making a
genuine effort to continue working on a new design for JARRE UK, which
I hope to have online for you very soon.
