JUNE 22ND
: Hey all! Well, we're back from a 37 degree celcius weather to a much more boring climate, but it has to be said that we'll miss Athens, but all of us fans will be back together one day soon im sure. Jarre UK will have a full concert diary report with plenty of pictures, and a report on the Fan Meeting, which will all be online this weekend. IWe at Jarre UK hope that everyone we met while there had a safe journey home, and we hope to meet you guys real soon. But for now though, here are some pics to wet your appetities.

JARRE UK IN ATHENS UNTIL 22ND JUNE 2001

JUNE 17TH
: Well, that's it, we're off to a place that has a much BETTER weather system than 'sunny' England - and that place of course is Athens.

Within the next few hours, Jarre UK will be jetting off - by Air France - and because of this, the website itself won't be updated until we arrive back home on Friday 22nd June 2001.

In light of this though, we'll be providing regular updates through the Jarre UK Forum and also on the Official Jean Michel Jarre Website Forum (www.jarre.net) on all the latest information we happen to come across while over there. But don't forget though to also keep your eyes (and ears) peeled on the Official Website for their regular SMS updates through text messages and Voice Messages - the first of which is online already.

Things to look forward on Jarre UK when we arrive back though will be plenty of concert photos - from both concerts and also the rehearsals on Monday 18th June - and at a later date a full Athens online video report, with interviews from the fans we meet while over there, and anyone else we happen to bump into aswell! Also, a full concert report will be online, with a full rundown of the concerts, reviews, and plenty of other pictures too.

(BTW - Dunkie is on the left, Robin is on the right...)

JUNE 17TH: On Thursday 21st June 2001, Jean Michel Jarre will conduct a web-chat with fans through the Flash.gr website. The web-chat will take place at 4PM Greece time (3PM CET, 2PM GMT), but the chat room will open 40 minutes previous to the web-chat commencing. You can go the website at http://chat.flash.gr - unfortunately at the moment, the website is in Greek, but there will be an English text version soon.

'AKROPOLIS' Press Conference 'AKROPOLIS' Press Conference

JUNE 5TH: The Official Press Conference for Jean Michel Jarre's 'AKROPOLIS' Concerts in Athens on June 19th & 20th 2001, took place today in Athens.

Jean Michel Jarre explained that the Concerts will include the use of Electronic & Classical Instruments, Choirs, Lights, Lasers, Video and Computers connected to the Internet.

"I'm really interested in trying to match the past and future. What is interesting is to put this kind of area in a contemporary context, almost futuristic context...the best way of respecting monuments and our history is to make them alive in our times."

Jean Michel Jarre explained how he felt privileged and honoured to be able to perform at the Acropolis, and described
'THE HYMN TO THE ACROPOLIS', that he was asked to compose as a Theme for the Acropolis, as "an artistic, poetic tribute to the place."

Jean Michel Jarre also explained that he has re-orchestrated some of his Classic Tracks for the occasion, "but the scenography itself is for the Acropolis and will never be repeated."

Excerpts from the Official Press Conference, and the 'AKROPOLIS' Concerts Advert currently being shown on Greek Television, can be Downloaded from JARRE UK in DivX Format. JARRE UK would like to thank Vangelis Karastergios for providing these Videos.
