NOVEMBER 30TH: Jean Michel Jarre's '2001 RENDEZVOUS IN SPACE' is to be Web-Cast LIVE from Okinawa, Japan, by CyberConcerts (http://www.cyberconcerts.com/) on January 1st 2001. Disappointingly, unlike last year's 'TWELVE DREAMS OF THE SUN' Web-Cast which was FREE, '2001 RENDEZVOUS IN SPACE' will be a Pay-Per-View Web-Cast, although exactly how much Viewers are expected to pay is not known at this moment in time. CyberConcerts sight the need for their Pay-Per-View policy, due to the fact that '2001 RENDEZVOUS IN SPACE' will be Web-Cast using new broadband and midiband technology, which allows the Web-Cast to be viewed on a much larger screen, with near perfect visual quality. Early indications
are that only the Second Part of '2001 RENDEZVOUS IN SPACE' will be Web-Cast,
scheduled to take place from 8:00pm-10:00pm (Local Time) on January 1st
2001.
'OXYGEN IN MOSCOW' RELEASED ON DVD ![]() NOVEMBER 28TH: Jean Michel Jarre's first ever DVD Release 'OXYGENE MOSCOW' was launched today, accompanied by an NTSC Video Release, in the US, by Image Entertainment (http://www.image-entertainment.com/). The 113 Minute DVD features 'OXYGEN IN MOSCOW', a 60 Minute Edit of the Record-Breaking Concert, and 'MAKING THE STEAMROLLER FLY', a 53 Minute Jean Michel Jarre Documentary, both of which were previously released on the 'OXYGENE IN MOSCOW' VHS Video in 1998. Available only in the US, the DVD is Region 0 (Region Free), despite http://www.amazon.com/ stating that the DVD is Region 1, which means that ALL DVD Players are able to play it. The DVD is retailing at $29.99, although http://www.amazon.com/ are retailing it at $25.49, a saving of 15% Off the recommended retail price. Noteworthy points are that the DVD is incorrectly titled as 'OXYGENE MOSCOW' instead of 'OXYGEN IN MOSCOW', and the Cover Picture is taken from the 'OXYGENE WORLD TOUR' and NOT the 'OXYGEN IN MOSCOW' Concert.
PRESS CONFERENCE FOR '2001 RENDEZVOUS IN SPACE' NOVEMBER 25TH: The Jean Michel Jarre Concert in Okinawa, Japan on January 1st 2001, is now officially known as '2001 RENDEZVOUS IN SPACE'. A Press Conference about '2001 RENDEZVOUS IN SPACE' was held in Okinawa on November 22nd by Tetsuya 'TK' Komuro and Governor Inamine of Okinawa, outlining the purpose of the Concert which they described as "expressing the dawn of a new century through a musical performance". '2001 RENDEZVOUS IN SPACE', a £2 Million Concert, will take place at Tropical Beach, Ginowan Seaside Park, Okinawa, Japan on January 1st 2001, and is FREE, although the audience size will be limited due to safety reasons. The First Part of the Concert is scheduled to take place from 6:00pm-8:00pm (Local Time), featuring 'THE VIZITORS' (Jean Michel Jarre & Tetsuya 'TK' Komuro), 'NAMIE AMURO', 'BALANCE', 'GLOBE', 'TRF', and 'TM NETWORK'. The Second Part of the Concert is scheduled to take place from 8:00pm-10:00pm (Local Time), featuring the same above Artists, and is scripted by Arthur C Clarke, which confirms this year's widespread rumour that Jean Michel Jarre has been working with Arthur C Clarke on a New Year Project, a Project that many people had thought to have been scrapped due to Arthur C Clarke's poor health. The Third Part of the
Concert, known as 'DJ NIGHT', is scheduled to take place from 11:30pm-5:00am,
featuring 'DJ DRAGON' and other Various Artists. Jean Michel Jarre &
Tetsuya 'TK' Komuro will not be performing during this Part of the Concert.
JEAN MICHEL JARRE PLANNING CONCERT IN GREECE ![]() NOVEMBER 20TH: Jean Michel Jarre is currently in Greece exploring the possibility of performing a Concert there during Summer 2001. Apparently, Greek TV have reported that Jean Michel Jarre has sighted the Odeion of Herodes Atticus, an Ancient Amphitheatre, as a possible Concert Venue.
NEW YEAR JAPAN CONCERT CONFIRMED ![]() NOVEMBER 5TH: The Jean Michel Jarre Concert planned for Okinawa, Japan on January 1st 2001, is now officially 100% confirmed. The Concert will be a huge Jarre-Style Concert with Giant Screens, Projections and Fireworks, and will be performed at the Busena Terrace Beach Resort, a luxury tourist venue built in 1997, on the main Island of Okinawa, by Jean Michel Jarre's newly formed Band called 'THE VIZITORS'. 'THE VIZITORS' comprise of Jean Michel Jarre, Tetsuya 'TK' Komuro, Francis Rimbert and three as yet unnamed Japanese Musicians. 'THE VIZITORS' as yet untitled debut Album is scheduled for release early next year, though no definite date has been confirmed as yet. Jean Michel Jarre, well aware of Public Opinion over his collaboration with Tetsuya 'TK' Komuro, has announced that he himself is in charge of the Album's Music Composition. Jean Michel Jarre has stated that the Album will not be in the Techno-Style of 'ELECTRONIC NIGHT', but will be more Melodic with a couple of Vocal Tracks, completely in his style. Therefore for all of you who were afraid to see Jean Michel Jarre collaborate with Tetsuya 'TK' Komuro again (myself included), Jean Michel Jarre has made it clear that all these fears are totally unfounded. Thankfully we can all breathe a huge sigh of relief...PHEW :)
'HEY GAGARIN' SINGLE CANCELLED NOVEMBER 5TH: Jean Michel Jarre's proposed Third Single from his latest Album 'METAMORPHOSES' has been officially cancelled by Sony. 'HEY GAGARIN', arguably the best Track from the Album, was to be released before the end of the year, but due to the under-performance of Jean Michel Jarre's previous Singles 'C'EST LA VIE', 'TOUT EST BLEU', and even the Album 'METAMORPHOSES' itself, Sony do not feel that another Single Release is commercially viable. Rumours are that Sony sighted the same reasons above for the cancellation of this year's proposed Jean Michel Jarre 'METAMORPHOSES TOUR' Concerts.
