OCTOBER 28TH: Jean Michel Jarre's Management & Warner Vision UK have confirmed that Jean Michel Jarre's forthcoming DVD Release of his 'YEAR OF FRANCE' Concert in Beijing on October 10th 2004, entitled 'JEAN MICHEL JARRE: LIVE IN BEIJING', will be a Single DVD, not a Double DVD as stated on various Web-Sites, on the Warner Vision Label (Catalogue Number: 5046 761662), scheduled to be released on December 6th 2004.

Today, Warner Vision UK confirmed to JARRE UK, that they had originally planned to release Jean Michel Jarre's entire Concert on the DVD, but due to the timescale between the actual Concert and the release of the DVD, this will now not be possible. The Final Tracklisting is as follows:-

Various Web-Sites have been taking Pre-Orders for the DVD over the past week, most of which have incorrectly stated that the DVD will be a Double DVD, featured an incorrect Tracklisting, and even incorrectly stated that there will be a 'Making Of' Featurette on the DVD. Today, Warner Vision UK confirmed to JARRE UK, that the only confirmed Bonus Extras on the DVD, are a Photo Gallery and a DVD Commentary by Jean Michel Jarre.

OCTOBER 9TH: This week, JARRE UK has received countless E-Mails from Jean Michel Jarre Fans, all requesting for any further information about tomorrow's Web-Cast of Jean Michel Jarre's Concert in Beijing, China.

With Jean Michel Jarre's Official Web-Site (www.jeanmicheljarre.com), still providing virtually no information on Jean Michel Jarre's Concert in Beijing, China, apart from the date and location, and with virtually no likelihood of it receiving an update before Jean Michel Jarre's Concert tomorrow, Jean Michel Jarre Fans have good cause to be concerned!!!

Originally, Warner Music France stated that Jean Michel Jarre's Official Web-Site would Web-Cast Jean Michel Jarre's Concert, or at least provide a link to the Web-Cast by Sina (www.sina.com), but this looks extremely unlikely now, and to make matters worse, as JARRE UK could not locate any mention of the Web-Cast on the Sina Web-Site, we contacted Sina in Beijing, only to discover that they appeared to know nothing about it!!!

Furthermore JARRE UK has yet to receive confirmation on which Chinese TV Station will broadcast Jean Michel Jarre's Concert tomorrow, although it is believed that CCTV1 will broadcast the Concert LIVE from 20:00-22:00 (8pm-10pm) (Local Time), 13:00-15:00 (1pm-3pm) (BST), on October 10th 2004, which is available online on the World Wide Internet TV Web-Site (www.wwitv.com) (Requires Windows Media Player)...Click Here For More

OCTOBER 9TH: Today, JARRE UK's Team in China, Robin Hosgood and Howard Farrar, have reported that the Chinese Authorities have today, banned ALL Cameras and Video Cameras for tonight's Dress Rehearsal and tomorrow's Jean Michel Jarre Concert in Beijing's Forbidden City!!!

This will make it practically impossible for JARRE UK, or indeed any other Jean Michel Jarre Web-Site, to provide Jean Michel Jarre Fans with any photographs from either the Full Dress Rehearsal or Jean Michel Jarre's Concert, unless photographs are taken, outside Beijing's Forbidden City, of the Giant Projection Screens that are located on Tiananmen Square.

Jean Michel Jarre's Management have assured JARRE UK that they are trying to get this decision reversed, but with all the other problems that have arisen this week that still remain unresolved, at this moment in time, it is unlikely that this decision will be reversed...WATCH THIS SPACE!!!

OCTOBER 7TH: Today, JARRE UK's Team in China, Robin Hosgood and Howard Farrar, arrived in Beijing, China, and within only a few hours of arriving, were invited to attend the Official Press Conference for Jean Michel Jarre's Concert, in Beijing's Forbidden City on October 10th 2004.

The 2 Hour Press Conference was held in the Rainbow Hall of the Beijing International Hotel, where Jean Michel Jarre outlined detailed plans for his forthcoming Concert in Beijing's Forbidden City & Tiananmen Square.

The First Stage of the Concert, in front of the Meridian Gate, in Beijing's Forbidden City, will include on Stage, 3 Giant Inflatable 3D Projection Screens, a Square (represented by a Cylinder), a Triangle (represented by a Cone), and a Circle (represented by a Sphere), the same shapes that Jean Michel Jarre used as Projection Screens at his UNESCO 'CONCERT FOR TOLERANCE' at the Eiffel Tower, Paris, France, on July 14th 1995.

The Second Stage of the Concert, at Zheng Yang Men Gate (Qianmen), at the Southern End of Tiananmen Square, will see Jean Michel Jarre travel from Beijing's Forbidden City to Zheng Yang Men Gate by Motorcycle, to perform 4 Tracks on a small Stage, with 2 Musicians, for about 20 Minutes.

JEAN MICHEL JARRE: BEIJING CONCERT UPDATE

OCTOBER 1ST: Jean Michel Jarre's Management, currently in Beijing, China, have confirmed to JARRE UK, further details regarding Jean Michel Jarre's forthcoming Concert in Beijing's Forbidden City, for the Official Launch of the 'YEAR OF FRANCE' Festival, on October 10th 2004.

As previously reported on September 17th 2004, the location of the First Stage of the Concert within Beijing's Forbidden City has changed, and Jean Michel Jarre's Stage will now be located on the South Side of the Meridian Gate (Wumen), which is the Main Gate into the Forbidden City.

This First Stage of Jean Michel Jarre's Concert in Beijing's Forbidden City will only be accessible to 4000 VIPs and Invited Guests, which will include French President Jacques Chirac and Chinese President Hu Jintao. The remaining expected audience of 50,000 people outside of the Forbidden City, will witness this First Stage on Tiananmen Square, where 2 Giant High-Definition Screens will be placed, transmitting the Concert LIVE.

The Second Stage of Jean Michel Jarre's Concert will take place at Zheng Yang Men Gate (Qianmen), located at the Southern End of Tiananmen Square, about 80 Metres South of the Mao Tse Tung's Mausoleum (Mao Zedong Memorial Hall), where Jean Michel Jarre will perform 3 Tracks directly to the expected audience of 50,000 people on Tiananmen Square.

Jean Michel Jarre will perform his Concert in Beijing's Forbidden City with his "Partner in Crime" Francis Rimbert, accompanied by the Electric Guitarist Patrick Rondat, Acoustic Guitarist Claude Samard, 85 Members of the Beijing Symphony Orchestra, 72 Members of the Chinese National Orchestra, a 72 Member Chinese Choir and 100 Chinese people dressed in Traditional Costume, adorned by Giant Inflatable Projection Screens.

Yesterday, Francis Rimbert revealed to JARRE.NET (www.jarre.net) that Jean Michel Jarre will be performing his Concert with his Theremin and Laser Harp, marking this Concert as Jean Michel Jarre's first Concert with the Laser Harp since the 'AKROPOLIS' Concerts in Athens, Greece in 2001.

Jean Michel Jarre's Concert will be the World's First Surround Sound Concert, transmitted on a 100,000 Watt Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround System, which along with the 60 Tonnes of Equipment, 600 Projection Lights, and 20 Kilometres of Cable, will demand around 3,600 KW of Electric Power.

Jean Michel Jarre's Concert is currently planned to start at 20:00 (8pm) (Local Time), beginning with the French Air Force's Aerobatic Team, the 'PATROUILLE DE FRANCE' (www.patrouilledefrance.com), performing an Air Display over Beijing's Forbidden City. The First Stage of the Concert in the Forbidden City is expected to last around 95 Minutes, and the Second Stage of the Concert at Zheng Yang Men Gate is expected to last around 20 Minutes. The Concert is expected to finish at 22:00 (10pm) (Local Time).

The Entire Concert will be broadcast LIVE on Chinese TV (www.cctv.com) and Web-Cast LIVE on Sina (www.sina.com). The Entire Concert will also be broadcast across Europe LIVE on Euro1080's High-Definition TV Station HD1 (www.hd-1.tv) from 13:00 CET (1pm CET), and a delayed broadcast of the Entire Concert will be broadcast on the French TV Channel France 2 (www.france2.fr) from 22:20 (10:20pm) (Local Time) on October 10th 2004.

The Official Press Conference for Jean Michel Jarre's Concert will be held in the Rainbow Hall of the Beijing International Hotel at 14:00 (2pm) on October 7th 2004, where further details are expected to be announced.
